Folding some new dresses, I noticed a slight bulk in one of them... and out came a handkerchief, by Nina Ricci, oddly folded and forgotten by it's former owner for at least 30 years, I guess... I discovered a new hobby, next time I go on a vintage hunt : dig out forgotten objects from old pockets.

Boutique fantasque, 23-25/09/2011

My dream finally became true :
from Sept. 23rd-25th, I had my first, temporary boutique !
La "Boutique fantasque" a réuni 6 créateurs parisiens
à la Galerie Absoluty.

The weather was very nice, a kind of Parisian Indian summer... so many young families, but also a couple of tourists, strolled along the canal Saint Martin, and entered the Galerie Absoluty, which I shared with 5 Paris based creators (list below).
The event was called "Boutique fantasque".
It was an incredible joy to see people wearing the clothes I had been collecting and carrying around for the last years (some of them have been with me for 10 years now).

The elderly couple who tried on several dresses, a former "couturière" who commented on the fabrics, a young couple verymuch in love, the very stylish lady with pink clogs wearing two of my most exceptional dresses ever, the lady who bought my favorite dress which looked fantastic on her, Claudia, Emmanuelle who had invited me to be part of this great adventure with the blue and black chevron coat... and so many other visitors... I wish to thank you all for these 3 fantas(ti)que days.

" Transparence "

I recently was invited to the South of France and brought a bag full of vintage dresses I had gathered during my last vintage hunt(about 140 new items to come !).
The Southern light was very warm, and in the evening, colors changed to beige and gold. I decided to take some pictures with the new dresses hanging outside. Hovering in the air (like ghosts...) under the breeze, they looked like x-rays against the sky, showing their "articulations" and hidden seams, but also the beauty of their delicate "skin" / fabric.

I will upload these dresses soon on my etsy shop (http://www.etsy.com/shop/JulesAtelier), with a greater color accuracy, but I wanted to share these pictures... a glimpse at forthcoming items ! Please feel free to convo for info or thoughts. atelierdejule(ad)gmail.com
